A Summer's Day

Touring schools and colleges next spring, A Summer's Day by Paul Priest traces Shakespeare's turbulent emotions as he urges a handsome young patron to marry, loses him to his own former lover, the so-called Dark Lady, then learns to part from both as each take their separate ways. Twelve major sonnets illuminate the story which, in turn, sheds light on Shakespeare's verse.

This hour-long play involves three actors and a musician, with an after-show discussion if required and costs £400.
